We’re looking for a Benefits Administrator. The work location for this position is the United States and is eligible for a fully remote work arrangement.  
 
The Opportunity:
The Benefits Administrator oversees and manages the administrative aspects of Ritchie Bros. employee benefit programs. Ritchie Bros. offers employees a variety of benefit programs, which helps boost morale.  The benefit programs provide a range of different insurance coverages and other services for employees and their dependents.

In this role you’ll:
  • Act as a liaison for employee claims, issues and provide resolution. Coordinate enrollment, maintenance, follow up and reporting on: Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Family Leave and Worker’s Compensation. Manage all leaves of absences including personal and medical leaves.  Collaborate with Talent Partners and manages leaves throughout the process.
  • Implement and communicate benefit changes for all employees and conduct benefit orientation sessions for new employees. Enroll and process new employees, qualifying life events and terminations in applicable benefit programs. Coordinate activities and preparation for the enrollment process, including required system updates, quality testing and data migration. 
  • Identify and investigate Wellness Programs in partnership with Total Rewards; coordinate and communicate enrollment and education of Wellness Programs.
  • Maintain information and assist with the issuance of Summary Plan Documents and required information to all employees. Provide recommendations for enhancements and/or changes to health, dental, vision, life, disability and voluntary plans. Assist with year-end reporting.
  • Support configuration and maintenance of ADP system it relates to benefit administration.  Manage and monitor data flow and integration including carrier connections, payroll and/or processes manual updates. 
  • Any other duties assigned.

Here’s what you bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred .
  • 3-5 years of experience of benefit administration.
  • Experience in health, welfare, retirement and disability programs.
  • Strong aptitude for technology – HRMS, Payroll Systems and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
  • Self-motivated and takes pride in delivering and meeting the needs of the business.
This job will require you to:
  • Work with vendors on an as-needed basis when there are specific employee issues with employee benefits.
  • Determine the best course of action on employee inquires based on plan documents and policies.
  • Review leave & accommodation paperwork to determine the best course of action.
